We did not buy any Morchella vulgaris (obviously) or Amanita cesaria (how apt for Rome) although there were very many boxes to be had:



But we did buy, cook and eat lots of chanterelles and porcini: see me in ecstasy before deciding which to "pick."  The porcini were from Calabria and priced between $5 and $12 per pound:
